Make your own HD music: Pure Vinyl
CHANNEL D - Pure Vinyl
Here is a link for a free 2 week trial. I downloaded the test sample in 24/192 of the Elvis song -Fever and it plays just great with the halide bridge to the MCD500 DAC. I am curious if I will be able to tell the difference between the original vinyl and the recording. Lets here your opinions |

Curious how you are using this. Channel D suggests bypassing your phono preamp altogether and instead using your Mac with a microphone preamp. Under this setup you would use the software to apply the RIAA equalization. I'm hesitant to do this because (1) I like my Ayre P-5xe and am skeptical that Pure Vinyl + something like an Apogee Duet will improve upon it and (2) I simply don't like the idea of digitizing my vinyl for playback.
Pure vinyl obviously offers a lot more than the opportunity to play your vinyl through your computer - it allows you to play hi rez files with iTunes (Pure Music, which can be downloadec seperately for about 1/2 the price) and record vinyl. But if you don't use the setup described above, I'm wondering if I'm better off with just Pure Music and finding a cheaper alternative to recording vinyl on to my Mac. So how are you using it?
