Very wide footprint given today's trends. Difficult to place. They don't make me horny. I didn't think the finish was that exceptional either.

I would agree with that....the K2 S9900 has always appealed more to me for that reason.

Just place them in the room, they don't need tweaking.

You have to blame the bad room acoustics.

I bet if you turned the volume dial past 3'oclock something would move!

Isin't it 500Watts(RMS), 2000Watts peak. or???

EDIT; it is, Maximum recommended amplifier power: 500Watts

Give me a pair of XRT2K and I will blow them away with two Crowns 5000 I-tech in bridge mode.

Last time I heard them sounded very well at a show. To me they don't need more power then 500Watts, but, they can be biamped. If i connect two MC252 in bi amp with an active crossover, perfect.

I agree with you that the DD66000-speakers sound outstanding.
I was considering buying them (even measured how they would fit in my room), but came to the conclusion to wait.

I found them of immaculate build last month, although it was a bit dark, but as they weren't playing, we could take our time to feel them and see them from very close.
"Stereoplay", a German magazine, puts this speaker in their absolute top 3.

One can always choose JBL M2 as well, powered with two Crown I-tech HD amps. No risk of blowing up these speakers..
