We had our annual Kentucky Derby party yesterday with over 60 guests. I had all six downstairs zones going plus the upstairs system. I found a spot upstairs so I could see the race on the 92" projection screen. It was awesome! We didn't get the front projector until last July, so this was the first year for the race on the big screen for us. The folks downstairs had to settle for the 60" Kuro plasma in the den, a 50" Pioneer Elite plasma in the living room with the new XR200's, smaller LCD's in the kitchen and study, or the most popular option, a 42" LCD outside on the patio.

After the race, I was forced by popular demand to do two demo sessions of the upstairs theater, and I used the opening chase scene from the "Casino Royale" Blu-ray. It was well received, to say the least.

All in all, we had a blast!

We saw Itzakh Perlman play with and conduct the Atlanta Symphony this afternoon. Had great seats, 8th row center (ok, off-center by 3 seats), and he played Bach's 1st Violin Concerto with the emotion evocative of Tchaikovsky (that may sound a bit like apples and oranges to some, but it fit perfectly). Incredible performance. It's great to see a virtuoso performer like him do it so comfortably, it really set the audience at ease.

Sounds like a great time.

As for me, I rested on Friday from an eye doc appt., and spent the afternoon listening to tunes while the laundry was going. Then Saturday I went to Madison to sample some restaurants, then went for a long drive to enjoy the scenery. Today I took a long nap, and now I'm listening to tunes.

That is a great afternoon, what a rare opportunity!

Sounds like a fun weekend Clarbin.

I sorta consider myself kind of a pizza aficionado, so to speak. Let me recommend Lou Malnati's and/or Ginos East for some authentic Chicago deep dish.

I'm going to Lou's on Monday.

Love their pie. It's one of the best.
