Default Anyone Tried Integrating Dirac Room Correction?

I have a high-end Dell Windows10 Pro laptop with several really good (quiet) USB ports, one connecting to my PS Audio DirectStream DAC, another connecting to my Mytek Brooklyn DAC, with Roon and Tidal for streaming/playback. The sound quality is very very good, but I thought I'd see if I could improve it.

I'm interested in exploring the Dirac Live Room Correction Suite, and own a miniDSP calibration microphone. Has anyone tried integrating Dirac with a music player? Thoughts?

I have done so, successfully, with both my systems although mostly with JRiver and only briefly with Roon. What is useful is that DLRCS allows you to have up to 4 correction profiles on tap (and an infinite number stored) so that you can compare the audible results from different target curves.

Massive improvement. Don't fall for the cable/power/electronics/isolation tweaky upgrade pitches. This is the real deal.

Yes and well worth downsampling DSD/DXD to 176.4/196 PCM for what it does.

Room correction has come of age and is a great way to fine tune your system in your room to get smooth frequency response. It can help tame low frequency anomalies due to how the speaker interfaces with the room. Some issues need acoustic treatment, some can be helped with EQ. The conventional wisdom says to not EQ above the Schroeder frequency.

Yes - many times it will be the biggest upgrade you can do. Amps, and cables all still make a difference - it's just the sequence you should do your upgrades. Do Dirac first and correct the "big elephants" running around - the do the other "tweaks".

My system is connected to a network on which my Aurender is connected. Do you know if you can use this software via the Aurender given it has its own internal hard drive?

Wow! Lots of great input! Thank you very much!

When I have some quality down time, I think I'll download the free trial and see if it does good things in my "man cave".

Unlikely. DL runs under Win or MacOS.

Why not try roon first ... it has parametrics and convolution built in to its dsp engine
Use your mic and REW to see problems in the bass and flatten all those pesky peaks below 200 hz or so , apply a house curve and so on..that will give you a great performance hit
