Just got them hooked in, replacing the 1.5m WBY, but won't get a listen until tonight. A better comparison will be when I get them back split, and it's an exact length replacement for my two WBY.

Audioquest is a great quality cable. Can’t do much better for the money.

I couldn't agree with you more!

P.S. For Joey: WEL vs WBY. The WEL has way more body and bass. The bass has more resolution and impact. The layering of the stage is better. The background is pitch black, much better then what you can achieve with WBY. These are the significant differences. WEL is tonally richer, has better separation and resolution, the staging is more precise but all these differences although evident are not breathtaking... But the extension and the resolution of the bass, the blackness, the layering and the body... there's simply no contest between the two regarding these characteristics!

Hey John

You have the cane and the 10... can you give and honest assessment of the two in comparison?

Sorry, Joey but I can't!
I know it's listed in my signature... It's mine (if I can say so), it's paid for but it's not here yet. And it seems that it's gonna arrive pretty late too!
As soon as it arrives and I complete the burn-in process I promise I'll let you know as best as I can how it fares against the NRG-1000 and NRG-10. I've sold the NRG-1000 but I think I can make a correct assessment regarding the two. I've had the NRG-1000 for a while in my system and I know how every song used to sound...

Did you find a difference between the 10 and 1000?

Yes, definitely. The difference is there but it's not night and day. The NRG-1000 has more resolution and separation and I find it a bit more dynamic. I don't think that an upgrade was worth it but I've bought my NRG-1000 SH at a very good price...
I've said it many times: AQ power cables used to be good but not that good. The advantage of AQ over other manufacturers resided in their interconnects (analog and digital) and loudspeaker cables. Now, with the new series, everything is as it should be (at least according to my fellows who made the jump to the new series and to the reviews of the happy owners). I hope I'm gonna find out soon.

I had a couple good sessions with the WEL 2.5m interconnects in place of 1.5m WBY. Very lifelike; detail, imaging, and darkness between notes seem possibly improved compared to WBY, but surprisingly I expected more warmth and body vs. WBY (as johndoe21ro noted, and I noticed twice in moving from Wind to Fire and again from Fire to WBY), and I haven't heard that yet. In fact if anything it's a more lively sound.

It could be due to the extra length and capacitance involved, it could be due to the new-style XLR connectors on WEL vs. old BAXLR connectors on my WBY (i.e. new ones are more transparent and neutral?), or it could be that this was a VERY stressful, crappy work week, and you know how psychology affects all this. Soon I may have MUCH more time for frequent listening sessions

The WEL interconnect fits my definition of neutral after the auditions I’ve done up to this point. I wouldn’t call them warm but I can imagine some people might because of how much bass resolution and quantity the WEL passes, especially comparing it to a cable that may sound light in the bass.
I’ve reinserted my WEL interconnect into my system since I purchased more full-range speakers than I previously had and I enjoy them much more than I did with my other speakers where I missed a bit of warmth.
