I still have my EMT TSD15 cart. Just like the other advise I got from the Shindo guru Matt, this cartridge goes very well with the Shindo sound and experience. I will hold on to it in case I ever come back to Shindo for another system in another room.
: Yes Serge, I will be in trouble if I still plug in the MC input !

I'm pretty sure that you'll come back to Shindo. You did the right thing keeping this EMT cart.

Jerome, Shindo has left a long lasting impression on me. Unfortunately it does not make any sense in my "serious" listening room/theater that as you know is multichannel and the other room where I had the Shindo setup keeps changing its function... Currently I use it to work out to drop all the weight that accumulates by sitting around listening to music in the other room! So far so good, I lost 20 lbs!

I will most certainly come back to Shindo and do another system perhaps in a different room, I just have not decided when and which room.

Hi Jerome,

Observing this thread with Interest--your passion for Audio is inspiring and infectious --good one!

Just to add while the EMT and Denon's are great carts-neither are renowned for great tracking ability ,in fact the Conical versions of

both "sounded" the most Musical

but fell behind on the intricate retrieval of info the Elliptical versions.

I've used both versions in the 70's and early 80's -in fact I stripped the humungous EMT shell

to run the cart "nude" the only downside being seeing the iron dust sticking to the Coils( Hamburg pollution!).

With you being in Europe I am surprised you have not ventured to try possibly the jewel of the

MC world--the Jan Allaert's from Belgium.

Of the many Arms and Cartridges I've owned --only one combo remains as above the crowd

The Allaert's with the Breuer 8---add proviso if you miss a finger lift-ha!.

Enjoy your journey

The Jan Allaerts MC-1B works very well with Shindo and A23 step-up (DL103 version)

The high impedance of the Allaerts is a perfect match to the A23 and the natural tonal richness and density of detail reflects the one of Shindo preamps.

Beautiful sound!

Des, Restock : Thanks !
Will check this cart.
The ESC DL103 is used in UK on high end tables like the Avid Acutus Ref or the big SME's. At 500 euros, it does not break the bank and it sounds much much better than the regular 103.
I never had the "g...s" to spend fortunes in carts / arms because I always felt that my arms and carts are more than enough for my ears.
But I will check this belgian jewel !
