I have received my Shindo Apetite class A integrated yesterday which is also a 15 W amp. And you could not take it for the Leben. Funny because I checked it on my PMC EB1i and I tried a Nora recording. That was her voice for sure coming out of my speakers. My jaw touched the floor. Funny to see that she uses also a 15W amp made by hand by a master in Japan.

We've tried small powered Lebens and Traformatics with current hungry speakers and they do drive them well enough for vocals and similar types of music but it may not work too well with dynamic or complex passages. IMHO. |

Something tells me that she isn't a big fan of hard rock anyway. But some of her music with Peter Malicks rocks and I wonder if it would sound bad on this system.... My feeling is that the audio industry leaded consumers to more and more power, while we just do not need this power. Like for cars. I have a few pair of speakers at home. All very different in design, load and efficiency. All of them sing with 5 W no matter the music style and produce more than decent SPL for my use. At 10 W, the Mc system and the PMC EB1i play so loud that the kids come to see if I'm ok and what "the hell" I'm doing ! Of course I cranked the home a few times with both the 501's and the 2301's. But I wasn't listening to music. I was cranking the home.
