Hey Don!

All is well with me. Been busy on the dark side playing around with ripping my CDs to my NAS, archiving some vinyl to 24/96 files, and contemplating investment in a new DAC.

As to Wino, I suspect he will be popping in any day now...

Happy Fourth to all!

Barr

Oh and I have developed this strange fascination with Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories". I need to buy the vinyl which I hear is even better than the HD Tracks download. Call me crazy!

Hey Barr- Glad to hear all is well with you. It's been a busy summer, but I did see Fleetwood Mac last Wednesday. They did not disappoint, very enjoyable show. As for recent vinyl spins: AC/DC: Highway to Hell, Ray Lamontagne: God willin @ the creek...,Sinatra: Sinatra @ the Sands, Lowell George: Thanks I'll Eat it Here. I also made a couple of audio moves within the last couple of months. I added the Heed Quasar phono stage to my second system, and drum roll please! A Homage T2 is officially on order. Wish everyone a healthy, music filled rest of the year. Cheers -Don

Ah, you will LOVE the Hommage T2, congratulations!

How was Fleetwood Mac, still timeless? Makes me want to put on the double re-issue of Rumours at 45 RPM...

That 45rpm is a really good sounding record. Makes me remember seeing Fleetwood Mac during the original Rumors tour. Memorable. I put on my original copy of Rumors recently and was very disappointed in sound quality. Put on the 45rpm version and became a fan all over again.

Thanks guys. Fleetwood mac was in great form. I could have done without their new songs, but their old stuff shined. They even did Sara, which Stevie said had not been performed live in a great while. The only song that came to mind as absent was Monday Morning. Other than that, they had did a very complete set. I am not a fan of the 45 reissue. it sounds dynamic and is a nice quiet pressing. It just sounds a little lifeless to me. Sort of like it connects with the brain, but not the heart. I tend to reach for my standard pressing, which sounds very good. I have not heard the Nautilus. I am really looking forward to the T2, hopefully soon. Barr- I can't quite remember your setup. I wanna say 96's w/ the Shindo 300B's or GM 70's, and either VR of Giscours...? Are you running a T2 ? Cheers -Don

Hmm, I no longer have a copy of the original release of Rumours, had it back in the day, will need to check the local record shop to see if they have a copy used, can't imagine they wouldn't. Never thought to do a comparison.

Don, good memory, Garrard 401 modified with Lignolab plinth, EMT tone arm and Stereo and Mono cartridges, Hommage T2, I upgraded from the V-R to the Giscours at the beginning of the year, and a set of Lafon 300Bs. And of course the DeVore O/96s, waiting to see if he comes out with O/98's at some point.

As to the might FM, I only saw them once, about 15 years ago, I believe it was the full band including CM, but cannot recall for certain, they put on a great live performance.

Very nice Barr. The best I heard the 96's was with a V/R and Cortese, so your sound must be off the charts. Did you have a standard A23 before the T2?
