Default Whats under your green boxes

Hi everyone,
What are people sitting their amps and pre amps on? Are you using the feet that came with the kit or are you using other isolation devices?

I seem to remember Jonathan recommending MDF or a particular wood combination (Jonathan please correct I can't find the thread).

I have a rack of silence and have the CC80's and the Giscours in a vertical line (Giscours at the top). I was initially concerned about the heat rising from the amps to the Giscours so I sat the Giscours on an isolation platform kinda like a shield. I never really intended to leave it in the rack for long but I kinda forgot about it. After 3 months i took notice and removed it - wow the soundstage opened up.

By the end of the week I will be trying some stillpoints under my speakers and that should be interesting, but it's got me thinking about how best to support the green beauties.

As always, feedback and ideas welcome,
Paul.

I think that Jonathan and all the shindo dealers recommend you place each shindo component upon a harbeth speaker. Choose your harbeth speaker depending on size of shindo component.

We had a custom cabinet built for our equipment and for storage of records. So they sit on isolated plywood shelves that have a wood veneer. Nothing fancy. And I can't claim to have heard a difference between this and any other product I've put them on from specialized isolation boxes, to cutting boards, to equipment racks. But I do let them breath....

We also defer to the Shindo team on this. They have never suggested changing the feet or doing anything else. As they say, keep it simple s.....!
