Default Love the one you're with

Since upgrading my speaker cables to Shindo and my dac to the AMR DP-777, I have achieved a level of audio enjoyment (and, well, audio confidence) that I've never had before. Maybe it's one of those temporary plateaus that will eventually lead to the big Latours or the 300b's ltd or an Esoteric K something, but right now those temptations seem almost atavistic, the remains of the "hobby" part of me that is or was curious about "better and best".

The "music" part of me is so engrossed and satisfied that it's kinda looking down on the hobby part as a toy I'm leaving behind. We'll see.

Some of us seem more able to love the one were with. Maybe we're delusional, maybe we're lucky. Or maybe it is the gear?

Those momentarily free of temptation join in...

The AMR is a very fine piece of gear.

I'm glad you're happy Steve. The AMR is indeed a very nice sounding DAC.

Mdkim, I just happen to be considering the AMR vs the emm dac2x. Any thoughts on a comparison?

I just bought the AMR DP777 and sold my 47 Labs DAC and Transport. I thought I would be underwhelmed but instead, I was blown away to hear all that I was missing. What the AMR does with normal CD's ( actually have all ine ripped to a hard drive) is astounding. The amount of information that I had not been hearing was quite surprising. This DAC is a really nice match to the Apetite and my Musical Affairs speakers.
