Victor...I can imagine how good the system sounds. Do you have any pix?

Here's an old thread with some pix of my system:

I still have pretty much the same setup but I replaced the MS750 server with a Sooloos so there is one less box in the rack now.

Victor...love the pix! Have you listened to vinyl on your system?

I did have a pretty serious vinyl setup at one point but I got rid of it all about 3 years ago right after I got my first music server. When I had my turntable I had a completely different setup including a VPI TNT jr table with Clearaudio Harmony cart, BAT VK-P10 phonostage, McIntosh C1000, MC501s and XRT30 speakers. Vinyl was fantastic but too much work and Ebay obsession trying to get perfect first edition LPs.

Now I just sit back and enjoy my downsized system.

Hmm. What made you sell your Classe gear and keep McIntosh? Do you prefer the sound of Mac gear with regular B&W but want something different for Signature?

See that there's been a while since I was here and wrote.

bart - Tanks Accuphase is a brand I like and I would like to test it with my speakers. Accuphase is expensive in Sweden so it is probably no alternative if I can not find anything on the used market. So I will probably opt to look for other well-playing amplifier instead.

wakkz - it may well be a tube amp, I'll try some this summer.

Victor - what fun that you mention tubes, that is exactly what I want to try. You've got a really cool system, and that certainly sounds really good with signatures.
But McIntosh is not an option for me today because I'm trying to get a little more minimalist system, but who knows, maybe I'll end up where you are in the end.

avsBuddy - I sold the whole Classé system because it was easier to sell it as a package. Otherwise, I have always thought that you get a lot of sound for the money if you buy Classé.

I now have a Classé CP-800 on loan at home to see if it suits me for this purpose
I have also borrowed an amplifier, an Air Tight ATM 1-S, an amplifier, which I think plays very nice but it is not able to get my speakers to blossom as I want, fine texture, no airiness and slightly restrained is my opinion.

However, I think that CP-800 will be allowed to stay, it has all the inputs and outputs that I could possibly need, then it is really well-playing as well.

I continue the search for an amplifier that matches my sound ideal, I can write more about my impressions if you find it interesting?

byZan, yes, please keep reporting. I have a friend who highly recommends Classe/B&W and I would be interested in your experience as well.

Why should I be so damn curious for?

Days before we were to go on holiday to Croatia so ...... so I told my wife that I wanted to ask the speakers in my music room with McIntosh gear. Yes, so they did not have to be visible on some inhospitable soul looked through the window at the back of the house, cough-cough!

A little truth there was in it ....... but not all
I had an idea that has been and gnawed at the back and that I wanted to test.
I asked my wife to take the speaker wires. The reason for this was that they are mounted beneath the speakers and I thought it would be too difficult to mount them away just for the small movements that would happen.

Said and done ..... Now they play in a smaller room and with my McIntosh electronics, I knew from the beginning that this would be enough to get these little gems to blossom.
I'm maybe a 10-15 hours before the plane lifted from the airport - we were supposed to leave and leave everyday life at home and just cuddle and have a good time.
What do you mean leave the everyday life at home and just cuddle? I thought a lot of days before we went and how I got that little move. I had to really strain to be social and pretend that all I was on vacation.

Back home again, so I warmed up the electronics while we took care of the chores that must be done after having been away.
Now I have played various records from different media and think that this was so good and it sounds best through C1000T.

Why should I be so damn curious for? Stupid me!

To be continued ....
