Van Den Hul Colibri

I have the opportunity to get a new Van Den Hul Colibri Gold for 1600 Euros or about US$2k. I think the normal price is over 5k.

Anyone have experience with the VDH cartridges? The other choice is a Air tight PC-1 but that really will cost 5k

I've listened to a couple of vdH cartridges, the Frog and the Grasshopper. I listened to them on the Artemis Labs table and the Well Tempered Amadeus GTA and the sound was excellent. Open, detailed and with plenty of drive and excellent bass. I really like the van den Hul sound.

Thanks. I have heard them on a number of occasions as well and enjoyed their sound immensely.

Both these cartridges are world class!I heard the Colibri on a Continuum Caliburn + MBL reference system. WOW!

PC1 is also a great cartridge but no discounts anywhere really

The chances of me getting approval to buy a 5k cartridge after everything I bought is..........
