I have made multiple changes to my system in the past few weeks and I am astounded, absolutely astounded how far my system has progressed. I am literally mesmerized while listening. The addition of Reference XL speaker cables have been the cherry on top. I now have 25 hours logged on the cables and they have sounded fantastic from the first note. No roller coaster ride here, although I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow improve with more hours.

Out with Billy Bags glass rack, in with Quadraspire SVT bamboo rack
Out with Symposium shelving
Out with a pair of REL B2 subwoofers
Out with a pair of ASC Tower bass traps

The last two subtractions allowed speakers to be positioned back from chair, closer to front wall ... (Wilson speakers work MUCH closer to walls without negative effect than any other speaker that I have experience with)

Out with Transparent Ultra speaker cables, in with Reference XL
Out with Zesto Andros PS1 phono preamp, now using McIntosh C500 phono with Tesla E83CC tubes

In with Stillpoints Ultra SS under speakers and power conditioner

Along with C500T, PS Audio P10, and Aurender X100L earlier this year .... My system has been transformed

The X100L is a KILLER bargain. A sleeping giant that no one knows about.

I can't wait either. But I haven't ordered them yet. Probably early next year! I've demo'd them and they are a big improvement over reference.

Maybe you should wait to audition the new Gen 5 cables. They will have the NA premier at Paragon on Friday the 24th of October. Not sure when dealers will be getting them.

Either way the prices on the current series should come down.

I'd like to, but they're gonna be cost prohibitive, I'm sure. And since I bought used, I saved a bunch of money. Hmmmm, now where have I heard that phrase before?

What did you find was the break-in time for the Reference xl interconnects?
