It looks nice, both inside and out. Best of the Neodio line IMHO. I wonder how it compares to the K01?

Interesting. My reaction is just the opposite. It's very easy to make things complicated, it's very difficult to make them simple.

A good friend of mine recently called to ask, “Why did you post a review link to the French Neodio player under ‘Japanese Exotica’? Was it simple stupidity or complications due to aging?”
I’m forced to admit two things: 1.) A combination of both and 2.) His number is now blocked. |

Hi Isli,
Neodio is an intersting brand and i have the same opinion: it is difficult to make it simple and you really need good self confidence to ask 35.000 USD for it. Haven´t heard the Neodio so far, did you?

I did several times. IMO the Esoteric K-01 or K-01x are a greater achievement in comparison.
It reminds me of the Audioaero La Source that has finally led the company bankrupt once again... difficult for such small company to guaranty reliability on the long run. It was not a bad player (with more components inside compared to the Neodio) but I cannot imagine investing such amount of money for a sacd player / dac / preamp and then see the company disappear without any rescue plan for customers... |
