I've got twin SVS Ultra13's and while they go very deep and play plenty loud, I occasionally find them a little slow with the 803d in my setup. It's always a compromise with bass for me - best placement for overall room response (reason for twins), or best smooth integration with the mains at the sacrifice for some seating positions, or best appearance in the room (living room), or....
I'm currently settled on the 803d (with Mac 501s pushing) down to 60Hz and the Ultra13's taking over from there. I know I do miss them when they're turned off and the 803d's are playing full range. The 803d's can dig deep, but when appropriately moved out in the room for ideal imaging and depth, they get thin on the deep bottom end for me, poarticularly with deep cello and string bass.

Yeah, I've given up on the sub idea. I'm now using a pair of restored MC60s with the 803's. Which seem to power the, pretty well. Not a lot of deep bass, but I didnt hear that with the MC352 either. The midrange with them is much warmer and tubey, which I like.
