Have you ever compared them to the SCM1's and if so what are your thoughts? opinions? My sales person has a pair for sale. Not sure if I would replace the SCM1's or keep them for 7.1 music and movies. Just wondering how much better the 805's sound. They sound great for the size as book shelves or smaller fronts. I haven't heard the SCM1 unfortunately. I must say the 805S are incredible speakers (for the size and price) if they are driven properly. I was never able to utilize my 805S' potential with Luxman gear. If you do use them with the Mac, I think they would sound really good. Plus, they look so much better than the SCM1 IMO. The 805S will match your 802D well.

This should work well
However, if possible, please have an audition before you buy.

Thank you Tommyc, unfortunately this amp is a on-line order from overseas.

Ha! I almost had the same thing happen to me. Our new female neighbours came to say hi and my flatmate took a fancy to one of them so to try and get them to stick around longer he started going on about my stereo and my room (we call it the penthouse as I have the upper floor ). Anyway one of them had just had a karaoke party and she took one look at those tweeters and just went for the grab! I nearly passed out. Luckily she didn't pull at them too hard.

I have the 805s paried with my MC2102. I love them. The room is small so it works well. The only warning I have for anyone who is looking to buy them is that you will need to consider a sub if you're room is too large. I heard the 805s in a large room and the bass was definitely lacking.

Actually I'm looking at moving to floorstanders pretty soon as I will moving to a bigger room at some point.

Anyway they arewonderful speakers. I forget they are in the room when listening to music. The Macs help of course!

Hi folks, second post here. I recently bought a pair of 805s and a pair of 608 subwoofers from Stonebridge Mastering Studio in Nashville after the owner decided to upgrade after using these speakers for several years as his studio monitors. I bought a McIntosh MC2105 from an audio dealer in Portland and a C29 from Tom Manley to use with these speakers. It will be several more weeks before the C29 arrives so I hooked up everything to my trusty Fisher 500C that normally drives a pair of restored KLH Model 5 speakers. I was really surprised how well old meets new works. The 805s sound excellent with the Fisher but I'm really looking forward to hearing them driven by the McIntosh gear.
