MX122 vs Maratz AV8805 vs Marantz AV7705

Well it is confirmed the Marantz AV8805 has officially been ordered.
It's waiting for the HT to be painted and drywall repairs 1st

Congrats Terry....looks like your HT upgrade is going smoothly as I have also seen in your update thread I am still trying to get time slotted to audition at my dealer, and hope to have this done soon as kids sports schedules have finally started to taper down for the winter!

My MC 8207 lasted 3 years before developing annoying hums. Lose a channel , lose the HT setup while repairs are going on. 2 Parasound A52+ a much better deal. Something happens with one you still have 5 channels.

Sorry to hear your issue with the MC8207 Paul. I assume you had the unit repaired? What was the cause? I’ve not heard of any real issue with these, or Mac in general, so part of the reason I am choosing this for sure on the amp side.

Well it is coming along but as we all know these sort of things just take a really-really long time.
But sometime in the future it will all get completed and I'll once again be a Happy Camper.


BTW,
I have not even seen the Marantz AV8805 yet.
Mine is still at my A/V Dealer waiting for the HT to get painted.

I'm looking forward to the Marantz AV8805 for sure.
I'm thinking it's going to be sometime though before that actually gets installed.

I ordered my 8805 in Feb and had to wait until the last week of Jun before it finally showed up. Its a wonderful piece.

With the price increase on Mac gear starting next month, I visited my dealer today to get the MC8207 on order, and look at the Marantz/Mac processors.....I was made an offer I could not refuse and picked up the MC8207 and MX122!!

I am super stoked and cannot wait for the equipment to arrive! I have a planned hunting trip middle of next week, so looks like the following week I will be setting up in time for Thanksgiving. Only item left is the XLR cables to hook them together. The dealer was pushing Tributaries 1.5m Series 6 cables (would have to be ordered), and they do not stock Wire World to compare. I'll try a post to get some cable feedback in one of the cable forums shortly.

A long term buddy of mine in TX. was getting an up-grade done and was going to get the Marantz Receiver back around the same time frame as you.
Turned out it was going to be so many months that he went with a new Denon receiver.
It was just to long a wait for him.


In my case I wanted the Marantz AV8805 as it is the stuff for sure.
But in my case mine is sitting at my AV dealer.
Can't install it until the HT is completed with drywall repair and newly painted.
None of which has even been scheduled yet.
Hopefully this month.

I remember pressing and holding a button (Display?) on the front panel under the flap and it turns off the Blue halo

The blue halo can be set to a variety of brightness levels, including “off”. I have mine on the dimmest setting and it’s right for me. Mine does not sit under my screen, it sits about 7 feet to the right of my screen.
