Congratulations Bob. I wish the news was better and it sucked so I wouldn't have to buy one eventually!

I have been using a VPI 16.5 for 10 years with Audio Intelligent fluid, to great effect. However, I always knew an ultra sonic cleaner was in the plan.

Nice pickup! I was skeptical of RCMs when I first began the journey. I went from a Spin Clean to a Okki Nokki to a Klaudio. Great improvements each step of the way and you've gotta love the results and ease of use with ultrasonic compared to more manual methods.

Congratulations Bob, that unit really seems very effective. One question, which is more general about cleaners with this configuration: is there any risk of the fluid dripping down to the label while it is wet and spinning?

Very good question Paul. With the Audio Desk PRO, there are two stationary wiper blades which removes 99% of water as the record exits the bath.

So what you see as the record exits the bath can best be compared to what one notices after wiping a countertop with a damp dish cloth. A very light coating of water on the countertop, until it dries minutes later.

With the Audio Desk PRO, once the record leaves the bath, the light coating of water that remains prior to drying isn't enough to induce a drip onto the label.

Best Sir,

Bob

Thanks Bob, the video I watched seemed to confirm what you said, but your description is exactly the answer needed. One could imagine having to stand by with an absorbent towel or cloth, which would just introduce fibers onto the record! (OK, I'll refrain from bad "circular" jokes and puns).

Having cleaned maybe 75 records -- I just love this machine and with it's ease, I've often thought what took me so long. A push by several AA members, specifically Aditya (docmd1020) put me on the straight & narrow.

The simplicity of design, even though complex to incorporate in a small box, negates the operator from the labor intensive RCM's. Ensure the record is slotted correctly & spinning after the water bath fills up & walk away & do something else like peruse AA, check the mail, prep dinner, enjoy a song or surf MD/ED/AS or whatever.

If you can swallow the price, it's Highly Recommended.

Best Sirs,

Bob

Even though I'll drain the Audio Desk PRO after a cleaning marathon & put it away in the closet on the hardwood floor.

I was thinking; what about cleaning several and putting it away filled with a litre of fluid/concentrate mixture and say, tomorrow use it again for a half dozen or more?

Definitely don't want for whatever reason or Murphy's Law to see a litre of water on the hardwoods & out into the hallway.

So, purchased this at the local grocery store. Should do the trick & if it leaks, with the Audio Desk PRO sitting comfortably within, it's definitely large enough to hold a litre of fluid.

Best Sirs,

Bob

You’re much more careful than I. I probably use it 8 or 10 times a week (sometimes more on a good week) and leave it filled during the interim. Likely not optimal, but it does fine.
