Crescendo mini review from me
I just got my Crescendo for a week or so. Here are my thoughts that may be useful for those who interest in this speakers.
1. Connectivity as simple as they claim, I only use Airplay and optic connections, not try Bluetooth yet. 2. Build quality the designs is good, remote controls looks good. It is made in China, most are ok except the metal stand that feel cheap. the details of that metal stand will tell that this is just a cheap desktop speaker. 3. Sound quality Forget all you know about Martin Logan Electrostatic, this is just an ok sounding speakers generally. tweeters sound quite nice enough, forget about bass, it is non existent, but there is dedicated Sub Out with x-over ready. mid range quality is ok, not bad, not too good. soundstage ? don't dream about it. Ok, it is more like a spacious sounding mono speaker rather than a poor soundstaging stereo speakers to me. Conclusion. It is cheap, sound quality suitable for price, but not great. And it serve my use well. to make good sound in the background playing iTune Radio softly while I walk around in dressing room. It also looks good to me. If you want better sound quality at a slightly more ...of everything, I think Dynaudio XEO 3 or 4 is a lot better, but no Airplay. Kef makes one with Airplay. But if you want something so simple to place, set up and make better sound than baby BT or USB speakers you see in laptop computer department, the Crescendo is it.
