more natural, in comparison the Aerial 7Ts are slightly forward there is more air and better defined bass notes the highs/mids are so naturally integrated it's simply outstanding I called my friend/dealer yesterday and just said "THANKS", he has been telling me to get the PL500s for over a month and I kept saying "NO" My wife said they are better, but my 11 year old said "WOW", I love them! |

I've been very happy with the 7Ts but dislike that I needed 2 E110s to completely fill sound out. 7s as you know roll off around 30hz. So I've been high and low passing at 42hz for more dynamics and lower bass fill in. Sounds like the 500s would be the ticket though Mike Kelly has told me his 12Ts will be his best speaker ever. What to do?What to do????? |

I've talked to Michael Kelly several times about the 12Ts. I really loved my 7Ts and had every intention to purchase the 12Ts. In addition, I've talked to a dealer in Dallas, TX about the 12Ts. The time-frame kept changing and I decided to pursue other speakers. Several weeks ago I was in Dallas and called the Aerial dealer. My wife and I wanted to listen to different speakers. The dealer was weird and recommended that I didn't come to his store and instead just wait for the 12Ts. That was it for me! I decided not to deal with that dealer and to consider other speakers. There are many great speakers out there and you may prefer the sound of the 12Ts. I'm so happy with my decision, with the realization that there will always be better/ different speakers that others prefer. I don't have the finances to continually chase the next new and/or best thing. If you're ever in San Antonio, TX you're more than welcome to come listen. |

I didn't consider Monitor Audio either, because the couple of times I've heard them they were forward sounding. Someone I really trust heard them and said the PL500s were on another level. I've owned several Wilson Audio speakers(Sophia 2, 3s, and Sashas). I've owned them because I just wanted to say, "I owned Wilson Audio." Now, I want to own what I think sounds good, regardless of what anyone else thinks. I understand the Wilson appeal, but I honestly feel they are a bad value...just my opinion, based on my experience. The PL500s are very smooth in my system: Jeff Rowland 625 S2 amp, JR Corus preamp, JR Aeris DAC, Bryston BDP2, WireWorld Platinum Power Cables and Inter-connect cables. WireWorld Silver speaker cables and the Torus RM15. My room is treated with GIK Acoustic.
I retired from the Air Force 5 years ago. My last base was Randolph AFB. |

I was reading an old post on another forum and found a great description of the Monitor Audio PL500s...detailed sound that has a 3 dimensional soundstage with great imaging and lots of depth(when recording allows), dynamic range and the ability to convey a sense of weight and power in the bass.

What is the best product to use for cleaning my PL500? I need a wood and leather cleaner.
