I'm curious...what joinery did you use for the tub? How are the joints sealed?

There are absolutely no adhesives, sealers or fasteners. This is cooperage at it's best. The 40 wooden staves are milled with absolute precision with tongue and groove joints. Each one has a groove that goes over the floor edge and you carefully mount each one side by side loosely around the tub. Then you tap each one on a little further all the way around, and do this about 5 times. They are then nice and snug and ready for the steel bands. There are four of those and you crank down on the threaded ends as much as possible. When the tub is filled it weeps out a little water for a couple hours until the wood fibers swell up and it's all sealed. Very cool.

Each jet and drain fitting has rubber gaskets on the water side and a little silicone on its threads but that's it. They are put on finger tight also counting on the swelling wood to compress the gasket.
