I would have loved to be there!
Convincing live performance from last year.
No noises from the crowd.

There are so much wonderful new releases that I can't always listen more than once to them.
This is one that deserved a second go.

Joseph Haydn - Piano Sonatas Hob. XVI:6, 20 & 48
Kristian Bezuidenhout, fortepiano
Qobuz 24/88.2

I don't know how this stayed under my radar in February, when is was released.
Bezuidenhout plays these wonderful sonatas in a very subtle way, really delicious to hear.
I know not everybody loves the fortepiano, but give this at least a try... (John ).

Another great recommendation. Very nice sense of air around the instrument.

Fortepiano story: two weeks ago my wife and I were in Virginia for a conference. On a day off, we toured Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s home (highly recommended). We were with a group of about 10 people, and in one room our guide was talking about Jefferson’s music interests and said, “as you can see there are two harpsichords in this room.” The gentleman behind us then said, “actually isn’t that one a fortepiano?” Our guide was a bit confused, and I doubt anyone else in the group knew what he was talking about. It’s always fun to come across a fellow classical fan in unexpected places.

Tony, glad you like it.
Our classical radio station Klara pointed me towards this album.
I'm glad they did.

Tony, that's a nice story.

Trying out my new Mytek Brooklyn+ DAC--wow! Way better than the one built-in my McIntosh amp.

(Although a stock screen shot, that's close to the resolution. It's 384 via MQA--sounds spectacular!)

The Fellini Album - The Film Music of Nino Rota
Filarmonica Della Scala, Riccardo Chailly
Qobuz 24/96

Fantastic movie scores... but I do prefer to see the movie at the same time.
I couldn't sit this one out.
