Yes, the sheer weight, size, and as you stated personal preferences presumably makes the speakers a lot tougher I would think!

There are certainly enough integrated amplifiers out there for every taste and budget. The MA9000 is excellent. You won’t go wrong with that choice.

I would also make speakers the priority, but don't lose sight of the weakest link theory which holds here also. Great speakers with mediocre preamps/amps/sources will wind up wasting money, though the stepping stone technique is valid for those on a budget.
