Default How can I get stereo from my PC to my audio system?

The second system in my office is comprised of a Nad 372 Integrated Amp, two CD players (one multi disc) a PC and wide screen TV. Also in the mix is a cable box and two sets of speakers.

I want to watch the video from my PC on my TV and listen to the audio through my audio system.

If I use the HDMI connection from my PC to TV the audio goes to my TV and the speaker jack is overridden.

Any ideas?

Windows Control Panel for Sound Devices allows you to select which audio device is the default one.

I'd suggest an apple tv. You can send music wireless to the Apple TV and then into the NAD. Video-wise you can send what you are watching on the computer wireless to the Apple TV, and have an HDMI cable from Apple TV to the TV.

Thanks but can you be more specific? I have been all though the control panel to try and switch the audio out.

Thanks but I am not going to buy a new TV. I am looking for a quick fix not an upgrade. The entire system is unnecessary but as long as I have it I'd like to get the stereo and TV working together from the PC.

If my cable box had a HDMI female I'd be all set.

Sorry, I just realized Apple TV won't work unless you have an out board DAC. I just saw a pic of the back side of the NAD 372 and I don't see digital inputs. Apple TV has only digital out.

Do I need an A/V receiver to make it work?

If so, do they make then like a switch box? In other words I already have amplification. All I would need is the equivalent of a pre amp fort audio video.

???????

Maybe something like this will work?

Amazon.com: HDMI Audio Extractor Digital to Analog Converter De-Embedder Dolby Decoder Optical / Stereo RCA: Electronics

You go HDMI from computer in. And out: one HDMI to TV (video) and one RCA analog to NAD (sound).
