The ones I really want: Amazon. (Mostly opera, concerts, BD audio, and some 'normal' movies)
The rest: a couple of months/years later on HD TV.

Ah, good idea. I'm looking for the best choice for renting because for me it's a waste to buy a movie only to watch it once.

I buy movies only after I watch them and know ill watch more than once, or those I feel have importance somehow, such as Apollo 13, We Were Soldiers, Saving Private Ryan, Lady and the Tramp, etc

Netflix Blu-Ray ........

Still working out just fine for me.

I have to wait to see anything that comes out new but in my case I don't mind.

I'm 100% in agreement as far as buying movies that I'll only watch once. I know this is a hi-fi forum and this may be frowned upon, but nothing beats the convenience of streaming. Sure, Netflix is only Dolby Pro Logic when streaming from a computer and sometimes Dolby Digital if using a dedicated device, but that technology will get better with time (hopefully).

The only Blu-Ray's I purchase are concerts. Those I watch often (or sometimes use as background music while working). And I buy most of them from Amazon (sometimes e-bay).

I usually rent movies since I only watch most of them once. I was using Netflix and switched to blockbuster when Netflix almost doubled their prices years ago. Yesteday I switched back to Netflix since Blockbuster was taking over a week to get me a movie and everything I wanted was a long wait. I may have the same problem with Netflix but will give them another try.

I seems that we are being pushed to streaming moives but I like the quality of blue ray better. In the future streaming may be the only option.

In the summer I don't watch that many movies anyway.

I use Amazon if I purchase a 3D or concert blue ray.

I use Netflix exclusively, and I'm pretty happy with them. I used to buy a DVD per week, until I looked at how much I was spending annually. Now that I have a media server, I rip the Netflix movies I know I'll watch over and over again, and simply return the rest. Over the weekend, I ripped Lincoln and The Dark Knight Rises.

Does Netflix give you the option of getting discs through the mail without having to pay for their streaming service? I looked at their website a couple of weeks ago and couldn't find a disc-only option.

Oops - hit send by mistake - I was going to say the library doesn't always have what I want immediately but I don't mind waiting - and the price is right!
