If it is not too late I would like to get everyone's insight. I am now using the Panamax 5400 for the 2-channel with the two MC275s to the high current and the C2300 and everything else to the other outlets on the device. I have the DB1 sub on separate outlet to a Panamax MD2. I have 15amp service to this room (probably same circuit) but may try to get 20amp to this room this year. I already had a sub-panel electrical box added in 2012 that feeds 20amp to the HT room. Here is my issue - I may purchase the Furman 15i for the 2-channel or should I pick up the 20i instead if I go to 20amp? Can I use the 20i on a 15amp circuit for now until I get 20amp here? Other suggestions? Thanks, Jim

I can't say for certain but I suspect you can. With my SPR20i it has a 20 amp connection on the equipment end however it came with both a 15 amp and 20 amp power cord so the 20i probably does the same. You could ask your dealer they should know or simply send Furman a quick e-mail. I have always found them very responsive.

Actually Ivan may be able to answer as I think he is a Furman dealer.

Furman confirmed the 20 amp comes with both 15 amp and 20 amp cords. I believe I will go with an elite 20 PF i. Works best with my rack. Possibly Ivan could PM me with price? Thanks everyone.

I use Ditek residential surge protectors, one on the main disconnect below my meter base and a second one on my electrical panel inside my home. I rely on the Ditek DTK-120/240HD2 Home Surge Protector, capable of 100,000A of surge current capacity and diagnostic LEDs to indicate power and surge protection status. It is a parallel connected AC surge protector and is available in a standard external enclosure or a flush mount enclosure. These surge protectors include a ten year warranty.

Let me add from experience what can happen with a panel mount surge protector, tree fell pulled power cables down, voltage fed through the ground into the house and took every electrical appliance and device that was plugged in. (it was before the audio system was installed here.)

For what it is worth, I have both a Furman Elite-15 PFi and SPR-20i in my system. The SPR is a voltage regulator, and the Elite has a 45A current reserve for power amps. No complaints. I'm also impressed with how quiet they are.

The Furman conditioners are great when it comes to current reserves, my IT-Reference has a 60 amp reserve so I have been able to plug my two Bryston 4B-SST's, 6B-SST and my Paradigm Sub 25 into it without worrying about any of those amps being starved for power.

A Furman rep told me that an SPR-20i will handle TWO Elite-15PFi units. That is great for flexibility in an inflexible wall duplex situation. System reconfig will be easier!

I know it has not been mentioned but what about the APC HT-15 units. I replaced my older Panamax unit with one for a good improvement.

The Furman is still the better of the 3.
