Default Speakers - Electronics manufacturers partnerships

I very often find the following brands paired:

- Sonus Faber with Audio Research
- Magico with Constellation
- Wilson with D'Agostino
- Vivid with Ayre
- ...

Is it my imagination / just coincidence or are there partnership agreements between the brands for cross selling that make distributors push the combination?

A pairing of Sonus Faber and Audio Research, outside of sounding very nice, might be because their both part of Fine Sounds Group.

Since Sonus Faber and Audio Research are both under the Fine Sounds umbrella that makes sense.

I have seen Wilson with several different brans of electronics. If it is an dealer event or a audio show Wilson usually has the say with what they are paired.

The Fine Sounds link...overlooked that. Thanks.

Definitely...I've seen them with VTL, D'Ag, ARC, and even Devialet. I don't know how tightly they control it, but it doesn't seem that staged or choreographed (even thought it might be).

Pedro...the SF and ARC has been addressed. The other pairings you have noticed in Portugal or in audio shows (or reports from audio shows) all over Europe and the US. I ask because sometimes, the importer of certain brands usually tries to pair up the brands that he/she represents at audio shows together which makes good business logic (if not always sonic logic), so it might be that the importer of Constellation also does so for Magico speakers in Portugal, and similarly Vivid and AYre might be handled by same importer, etc...An example of this in the US is you will almost always see Vivid paired up with Luxman gear in the US because they are both represented by On a Higher Note, which imports them into the US and establishes the dealer network for those products. Another example in the US is Marten speakers and EAR tube gear, which are both handled by Dan Meinwald at EAR USA who also imports Marten, Townshend, Jorma, and Helius in the US. So it could be something similar going on in Portugal.
