I should be a little more clear: my system as a whole is quieter when everything is plugged into the Denali, with no sense of restricted dynamics. There’s no improvement in dynamics when plugging the amp directly into the wall outlet.

Default Where do you plug in amps ?

Because you can't have too much of a good thing, the McIntosh floats on an API 20A isolation transformer, which is then plugged into its own dedicated, derated 20A line. The only exception is the turntable, where the VPI SDS controller goes direct into the wall on yet another dedicated line.

This system has tremendous power and reserves.

Cleeds, did you renovate for the 20A lines Or was it in the original plans for your home?

The receptacle is a standard 20 amp T-slot hospital grade plug, and where I don't recommend it (it's not in the code book per se) it works for me because I have the proper fuse on the related equipment which makes it perfectly safe. Every part of this setup has been rewired with 8/3 which is the point of the breaker (ment to prevent the wire from catching on fire) I have also had ground rods pounded into a grid with number 8 gauge down to the water table and filled with kitty litter. Not code, but a better option than what code requires.

Code is bare minimum, not what I'm after.
(blanket statement) Also, please consult your local electrician as electricity is very dangerous and can kill you if you if you don't get it right.

I installed them after I bought the house. It was not a pretty process, because it involved cutting open some walls. But it was absolutely worth it!

I have dedicated circuits for each of my 207's and 206. The pre-amps and tuners , processors and EQs are on another circuit and the TV display and associated accessories on another circuit and the computers and accessories on another 20 amps circuit. I know that's over 100 amps, but what can I say.
