I needed to swap out my CD - it is very easy to do, but I recall that it does require the specific unit (vs any generic CD-RW) - the mechanism is an old Sony and while it works OK, my sense is that it is far from the quality and standard of current units......

I think the hardest part was getting the black face plate on/off

Good question. I will try it tonight.

Eject button seems to be like all others. Very little "throw" distance on all, but the eject acts the same, not sticking or anything like that. May indeed be software related.

No but the Samsung EVO drives are super cheap right now. I just picked up another 1 TB on Amazon for 300 bucks. Price keeps going down on these babies.

started to open the cover to see what the options could be and the Panurgy warranty label from my repairs earlier in the year said "void if seal broken" = project for next year......

Putting together my list: Sony CRX230EE CD-RW Drive , new fan - SilenX 60x60x25mm - 12dBA - 14CFM iXtrema Pro Fan (IXP-34-12), any other recommendations of other parts to have on hand for the ms750 ? I don't have mine yet but I want to be ready down the road.

1 KW - Good info, thanks. I want to do my fan as well. What is the source of your fan info? What kind of reliability record on the one you cite? I don't much care about the cost within reason, I just want to keep the unit out of the "garage", where it has been too much lately. Seems like $11.99 (Webtailer cost I see for that fan you cite) is almost too cheap to be good, but I am no IT whiz.
