Default I was bored so I made a D200 concept drawing.

I hope McIntosh makes something like this one day.

It's a logical update to the D150 with some added analog features so it can easily be used on it's own or as a headphone amplifier add on to another preamp, AVP, or integrated.

On the front I got rid of the plastic buttons since I feel like that's the only semi cheap feeling part on any McIntosh preamp. I also added the higher quality headphone jack/amp from the MHA150 and a larger VFD since there are no longer any buttons to get in the way.

On the back I added an unbalanced analog input and corresponding pass thru jack. I also added an RS232 input and the DA2 module obviously. In order to make more room for the 2 additional 1/8" jacks I rotated the power input 90 degrees.

Who else would like to see something like this?

I struggled while buying my system in that I really wanted a Mc Digital box, but even the D1100 left me wanting, and had to give that money to dCS, but certainly there's something to be said for an all McIntosh system aesthetic.

I want an updated MDA700 with the DA2. Not a digital preamp but a DAC only with only input selection and no headphone jack or volume control.

Yeah. I would be fine with that as well.

If you add a DA2 to the new C8 that's pretty much what it is minus the fixed outputs.

pretty sure the C8 can accept a DA-2 module for a mere $1000 more.. so that's already done, right?

It would have to look better than the C8.
