I could see this being an appealing first step into high end audio for the millennial generation. It has a 50 watt amplifier and is blue tooth compatible.

It's compact and minimal in appearance, its retro, and it has contemporary features, i.e. blue tooth streaming. I could see my oldest kid (the one that has a 1968 McIntosh MA5100. (actually this one here) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNzN4QWJeNk&t=99s buying one of them.
I think the price is a bit steep for most younger people and I'd be surprised if this would be the first step into the high end audio world. For $1000 you can pick up a PS Audio Sprout 100 and a Project Debut Carbon turntable that would have all of the functionality of this MTi100. To me, this seems like a product meant for the existing McIntosh customer who already has a dedicated system in their listening room, a smaller system in their bedroom, and who is looking for small, simple system for their office.

It is! But the 2102 weighed in at 95ls and 17 inches deep whereas the 2152 tips the scales at 115lbs and is 28 inches deep. Plus the 2152 does not have Mono function. If I needed an amp I"d buy one. Good to see Mcintosh is still building big tube amps.

Good catch! That 20 lbs must be in transformers, which is a good thing.

Hmmm. Which Furman? I just looked and I don’t see a Furman unit that looks like the Mc.
