Mike...congrats on your new system. 600 hrs is a long time but will be worth it. Post pix when you can and let us know your listening impressions.

Guys,

Just to let you know that I have been out of town and have not been able to do any further listening. I will post pictures and provide updates over the weekend. Appreciate your support and interest.

After all, this is AA, the friendliest and most collaborative audio site - period!

Thanks,
Mike

Ritmo, what did you use to drive your Revel before the ARC ?
I changed from full Levinson to full Simaudio to a mix of ARC and Moon .
Salon2 will sure enjoy that 450 watt of your new amp.

Toga,

I have been using an Anthem pre/pro and amp combo. This was a very nice combo for my previous Revel speakers. However, lacking in performance to really get the best of the Salon 2s.

I can tell you with certainty that the ARC gear has made a significant difference. My wife and I sat down last evening to listen to several CDs - first time she listened to the new gear. Her reaction - "wow! Huge difference. Very musical. Not bright like they used to sound. Love the bass which was missing before".

I have to agree with her. All of this after only 10 or so hours of break in.

Thanks,
Mike

Around how many hours did you feel the ARC gear was fully broken in?

Ritmo, It's hard to tell because it just happen. I was nervous about lacking of deep bass in the first 100-200 hours. and during breaking in, I changed many things in the system like racks and cables too. But one day may be at 3xx hours I forgot that I was breaking in the ARC as I enjoy the music without caring about that breakig in duty anymore. So may I say 350 hours.

TOGA...6550s' tube life is in the 1500-2000 hrs range, so you have used up a third of their useful life. enjoy

Congrats. Bet they look wicked in black.

The DS450 and Revels are a nice combo. Had that running for a bit here. The Revels liked the DS450 a lot.
