Time... Linear and always moving forward for us earthlings, at least the way we perceive it. But like scientists claim, time is the past, present and future all existing at once... The theory of being at the event horizon of a black hole, right before you are torn apart into the quantum quarks or your basic elemental state, time will unfold and the PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE will all open up at once for the poor chap being digested by the black hole.
Fundamentally that would prove that everything is already pre-determined for us, what has happened, already happened, what is happening is happening and what will happen, will happen. Of course that negates the "free will" or our actions determining the future, it is just an illusion. No matter what you do, it will always end the way it was supposed to and ALL your actions will lead to that future no matter if you consciously try to alter the course or not.
On the one hand, it is kind of sad that we don't really have free will even if it appears that way, on the other, that would open up the potential of time travel and certainly solves the problem of the "Grandfather Paradox". Can't alter the future no matter what actions one takes.
