Default New Onkyo Ipod Digital dock

Anyone tried the new Onkyp Ipod dock which takes the digital stream from the Ipod like the Wadia idock does? Seems it will be even better value (around US$250) when it ships. Importantly it has a toslink output so I can connect it to my Meridian F80

Mike,

They are selling them in the UK at quite a few online stores and some brick and mortar stores too e.g.

STONEAUDIO UK | hi-fi, home cinema, multi-room, design and installation

It's too bad no one in the States has it. By the time you add shipping + duties you may as well buy a Wadia here.

I am using the new Denon ASD 51N. It has the digital output. I am using the dac input on my McIntosh MCD 500. It also has a wonderful remote that is very easy to work. I am very impressed. Also you can display on your monitor, or just use the display on your ipod.

The Denon is very interesting. I wonder how the digital out is fed.

I believe it works like the Wadia. Bi passes the internal dac of the ipod. I called denon to verify.
