Default Tannoy Turnberry SE - with McIntosh

Has anyone paired Tannoy Turnberry's with McIntosh SS Amps?

I'm toying with replacing my ProAcs with a pair of Turnberry speakers. Any feedback would be welcome.

Not the Turnberry Rock but heard the Kensington with a 275. Very nice. There is no reason why the Turnberry would not pair well with a Mc SS. Plus should you want to try them with a small amp, tubed as an option, you will be able to do so.

Thanks Jerome...I've read elsewhere that tubes are welll suited for Tannoys's. but my intent would be to keep my C2200 and the 501's...

I'm quite confideent it would be a very good match.. just curious to see what others might say who have done so.

Jerome,

I don't think I am missing 'anything' per se. I love my ProAcs... However, I'm looking for a speaker that will blend in and fit my room decor a bit better, without sacrificing sound quality and is within my budget. I'm very familiar with Tannoy as I owned a pair of Cheviots for +15 years.

A local dealer is willing to do an equal exchange on a new pair of Turnberry's so I am quite tempted. I've listened and am quite pleased with what I have heard, but they were being driven by the new Devialet integrated amp and the speakers have only had a few hours of use, so they are not broken in yet.

I found the Turnberry's to be quite laid back and quite relaxing which does suit me quite a bit. So before I part with my ProAcs, I just thought I would ask the more experienced audience what they think.

Got it Rock. That is a good reason.
May we see a pic of your current set up ? The ProAcs are not ugly at all.....

Very interested in how this turns out. I'm a huge Tannoy fan. I have Kensingtons on the way as we speak. I currently have Pass Labs XA's....but MC601's may have a future here.

...oh the things I do to keep my mates happy!! I'll take some pics in a short while and I'll let you see.

and you are very are very correct Jerome.. the ProAcs are lovely speakers.. don't get me wrong... and I haven't done the deed yet... I'm still pondering my options... but from an aesthetics perspective...my eyes tell me the Tannoys will offer a better visual ambiance... When Serge was selling his Canteburry's I was mightily tempted but, wrong time...

Now is a better time.... but it doesn't necessarily mean it's the right thing.. that's why I'm soliciting..opinions...

Really??.. ohhh.. now I am tempted to wait and see how that works out for you.. my first inclinations was towards the Kensington's.... I just have to save a bit more.. maybe I should discuss my plans with AudioClassics.. they are currently selling the Prestige line...
