Default Balanced headphone connection - 2x3pin or 1x4pin?
If connecting headphones to a balanced headphone amp, which is better - 2x3pin connection or 1x4pin? And why?

No real difference in sound quality, IMHO. Tyll Herstens of HeadRoom fame started the craze of 2x3 balanced headphone connections many years ago. The "newer" 1x4 pin sounds the same and is more streamlined.

Thanks for that. I have both available on my new Moon Neo 430HAD and wanted to know if one was best before ordering any new cable for my headphones.

I can't tell any difference on my Moon between either configuration.

My headphones are all 2 pins on each side so I imagine there is no benefit in going 2x3 pins to the amp.
