Oh by the way it is in both channels. It's just ever so slight so I must've missed it when I only thought it was in one. Going to try some cheater plugs on amps only.

Cheating the ground on amps didn't work but at this point I don't care, I think its over. I will have to trouble shoot this ground but trust me it don't seem to be bothering anything. Wow, I would like it gone though...

I recently had a separate 20amp circuit in for my amp (ARC Ref 110) installed and it made a massive difference. The rest of the components are plugged into a Equi=Tech balanced power unit which I really like.

I will depend on how your house was wired in the first place. Some people will find that there are dimmers, florescent lights, things with motors (refrigerators, AC units) possibly on the same circuit as their gear. Not having anything else the circuit should remove background noise. Also, depending on draw of your amps and other equipment you could be restricting the power they see to run at optimal levels.

I had this done awhile back. Difference is quite dramatic.
Lower floor noise, more details, better dynamics.
Changing the outlets to hospital grade outlets like hubbel also make some nice significant differences.

I never noticed that on the Mcintosh system, wonder why. Its not really seemed to mess up the sound but like I said if I put my ear to the one speaker I can hear it slightly. I have Mr. Sparky coming in the morning to fix it. I did check for this on my old system but believe when I checked I had conditioning on the amps back then and now I have none.
I noticed that you had no hum with your previous Mac system and it seems to have started with new equipment. Maybe the hum is caused by the new equipment. Is there any way you can try the Mac stuff again or a different pre and amp ?
