Obviously, I'd love for France to win... but I don't really believe it.

Brazil seems to be the favorite this year. I'd love a little bit of surprise this year.

Spain has not been mentioned that much in the media when talking favorites to win it all. A bit strange. They still have a very good team and besides that they are the reigning masters they also won the European championship two years ago.

They already won last time and I don't know the stats for winning the cup back to back but it would be quite I imagine.

I'd love to see an African team reaching the semi or bettter

As long as Brazil doesn't win, I'm happy.

Oh, Spain is definitely in the mix -I'm seeing 13/2 odds on many sites. Looks like nobody is giving the good ol' USA a chance with 200/1 odds.

Tough draw for the US. Germany is expected to win the group, with Portugal the popular choice for 2nd. If everyone plays up to potential, the US will have to fight hard to even finish 3rd. It is not inconceivable, though, that the US could finish 2nd. They have to beat Ghana the first game, though, for any realistic chance. If they beat Ghana, then securing only a tie against Portugal could be enough if Portugal loses to Germany its first game and then loses to or ties Ghana, or beats Ghana but finishes behind the US on tiebreakers. Of course, the US can just make it easy on themselves and win the first two games.

It would be fun if USA did advance from their group, but since the american people don´t have the passion for the sport as almoust every other country in the world, I´d rather hope that Portugal and Germany advances. I hope that Gli Azzurri will have a good tournament. Pirlo is a wizard in the midfield!

blighty faces an equal challenge escaping their group as does the USA. At least my two local teams got promoted. Brazil v Spain in the final, with Germany and Argentina as the dark horses.
