Default 861 is in the house!

Well my new Graphite Meridian 861 processor has arrived and been installed. Still on two channel at the moment becasue my centre speaker has not arrived.

Now explain this to me. The 861 has the same dacs as my 808i.2. I don't even use those dacs, I use the ones in the speakers.

The card based tecnology is identical to the 808i.2.

WHY does it sound better?????!!!!! (not that I'm complaining )

You are early too Bro!

Thats my usual ritual. Go to bed at almost 1 am or 1.30 am and wakes up at 4.30 am to 4.45 on weekdays. And a "power nap" from 11.30 to 1.30 pm. Thats how I earn my keep and to be able to afford all my toys. The only time I catches up with sleep is during the weekends.

Of course, the other sleeping times would be during vacation where I get to sleep till 10 am!

Howie
I don't get it either. The 808 II should have their latest dacs with apodizing filter. I think even newer than in the 861.

Can't you bypass the DAC's in the speakers and use those in the 808? I would be calling Meridian with those questions. You have some nice stuff there.
