Well, next time I will keep silent until the product is in my room before saying here "ordered".
I thought the SB were ordered. I even posted a small message on the DeVore FB page about them !
My dealer ( I will hide the country where he is in order not to give a bad image of him) first refused a payment by American Express card. Because of 2.2% fees and because it takes "a few weeks to clear".
I replied "I do not care waiting. I will pay the 2.2% fees and take your time before sending the order to DeVore. All the time you want. If you want I can pay you via PayPal too and I will pay the fees. You can call or email Mike Sastra, the boss of AC and he will tell you who I am : I bought many many things from him, always paying by Amex with no problem".
Too complicated to explain here but all my big purchases are made by Amex. It gives me LOTS of advantages. And not only gifts. ( Although they are kool : we are living in 3 weeks to Hong Kong in First Class on Cathay Pacific with my wife. Paid by Amex points ! ). I have an other huge interest with Amex.
He said ok. I sent to him my card number.
And yesterday, I find this in my mail :

"I checked with the American Express office in XXXX about the payment.

They told me they strongly recommend against doing this by credit card, unless I know you personally and very well.

I am sorry I can not take the chance, this is not a matter of a 100 $, and in the current world situation I must be extra carefull.

Thus, a bank transfer seems the only way to do the purchase, I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Please let me know if you want to proceed."

Call that superstition or anything but I do not want them anymore. ( I even ordered A23 cables for them and my dealer was kind enough to cancel it while the cables were made ! ). I see signs everywhere and I do not like this one.

Tommy,

John does not sell direct even if you are in a country with no distribution.
I could probably order them from any US dealer ( well, some of them do not even reply to my mails ! Not Matt though ) but at this time I no longer wish to buy them. I do not like when things turn in circles.

Jerome, I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe a used pair like the Super 8 will come up in the future.

Jérôme, I'm so sorry to hear that but things often happen for the best even if you can't see it at the time. My mom always says that and it has always been proven true.

Maybe you'll have better luck with the Alexia or with Sonus

I have the same feeling.
Your house will give home to another speaker brand Jérôme.
Some day...

What is really strange in all this story is that it is the very first time that a company tells me that they cannot take a payment by American Express because they are not "protected". As if I could take back the money from them after receiving the product.
When you sign an invoice, with your name on it and description of the service / goods, there is no way that Amex could take back the money from your provider.
As Jean Marc stated, that was written. Just have to forget all this now....
