I had tidal and Qobuz for a while to compare. Dropped tidal, not due to hip hop, but better sq to my ear on average with Qobuz. I got the sublime subscription and have enjoyed discounted downloads (for some reason, I still want to “own” something for pieces I really like).

Hip hop is everywhere, but I just can’t listen to it.

I also dropped Tidal a few several months ago, but not due to their annoying hip-hop emphasis or worse sound quality compared to Qobuz, but their security or more precisely their lack of any.

There is no dual-factor authentication option for Tidal, and I have had multiple instances where I have been notified via email that a user has been added to my account. Almost always these users were from a Chinese IP address.

Emails to Tidal on this security concern were met with what essentially an uninterested shrug. They also let me know that they do not have a timeline for enabling dual-factor authentication.

Removing the added users and changing the account passwords helped for about a month before it occurred again. Please keep in mind Tidal's online security is not very good at all.

I switched over to Qobuz, and although their library is smaller, their sound quality and security are defintely better.

If you make the switch from Tidal to Qobuz, is there a way to export your library list and import it into Qobuz?
