If you can re-terminate the power cord yourself, this could work well too.

I think the C5 plug goes into the C6 (female) socket, does it not? And the C13 end of the power cord would fit into the C14 end of the adapter.

How do they make C14 to C7 adapter? I wonder if they also just not connect the ground wire.

There's no ground on C7 connectors so I am guessing that it will not be used.
