Guys, I listen to rock, jazz, new age, & a little rap. I always disliked rap until the last year or so. I don't know what happened to my taste. You shouldn't be so old fashioned and close minded, some of it isn't so bad. As they say, to each his own.
I can't stand country music, I'm not to sure why that genre hasn't caught on with me yet. Now I'm not saying I'm going to run out and buy a pair of Beats for me, but I do think my 21 year old son will be getting a set under his tree for Xmas. Sorry Mike if I've hijacked your thread. I appreciate your reviews and find them very helpful when friends reach out to me for advice on headphones.

There was indeed some poetry, musicality and humour to early rap/hip hop, esp the early work of Cypress Hill, NWA and Public Enemy. And 2 Pac could fashion a tune of sorts, but, er, it was my college days as well, and I kinda moved on, kinda quickly.

It seems that everyone that plays rap does it with the windows down in their car and at loud levels. I really don't like todays rock music with the "Indie Rock" and "Alternative Rock". I'm basically a "Classic Rock" guy and I listen to Jazz and Classical.
When my nephews come over tomorrow they usually bring some of the music that they are listening to now, so they can hear it on my system. Some of it isn't to bad like the "techno" stuff. Thank God that they don't like rap either.

As with any genre, there is crap and there is a sliver that is truly innovative. Genres are now so hard to really clump together as labels may try yo do as sub-genres have really taken over. I have a pair of dre recycled marley cans that i use on occasion. I like them. They're not as balanced or comfortable as my Senns but very good value. |

That's the older Monster/Beats product. Which model is that?

Thanks for the warning. Another thing to consider is the fact that these people are going to suffer more and more hearing loss the older they get and that means they're going to be playing this stuff louder and louder.
