Congratulations Dan, those are gorgeous amps! Some years ago I auditioned a 60th anniversary set and they sounded fantastic. Unfortunately I couldn’t swing the cost at the time, but I was very impressed with the sound. You’re lucky to have them.

Tony.......The 60th Anniversary Edition of the C22 commemorative reissue and the gold MC75 amplifiers makes a supreme combination. They were limited production offerings and got snapped up quickly. I was happy when McIntosh decided to produce the MC75 in the stainless chassis. That was when the seed was planted for me owning a pair. I am so happy the seed grew to produce fruit. I didn't turn the living room system off last night until 1:30 AM. The MC75's are that special.

The fact that the MC75s could be at least as good as the MC452 is a testament to the excellence in engineering oft demonstrated by McIntosh. I have a restored MC225 which amazes me just the same.

Dan,
Wow what a surprise. I remember reading some time ago you stating the MC452 would remain with you until...well, a long time. Like your C2300, you would not let it go to only bring it back. I am truly happy for you and you decision on the MC75 amps. Now, to wait for your review....

Kevin.......I know, I fall in love with McIntosh amplifiers so easily. I had the MC452 for 8 years. That's a pretty good run. If I had endless discretionary resources I would keep all the McIntosh amplifiers I ever owned. If memory serves me right that would be 20 amplifiers.

I have been drawn to the MC75's ever since McIntosh introduced them after the 60th Anniversary Editions came out with the Commemorative C22. I had hoped they would produce the MC75's as a separate item and they did. As time passed it became apparent I waited a bit too long and McIntosh ended the MC75 production in 2017. It took me two more years to solidify my intent to find a pair. I was fortunate that my McIntosh dealer was able to take advantage of his resources and located this mint pair of MC75's traded in by the original owner who moved up to the MC2301's. This time I won't make any predictions on how long I may own these beauties but I suspect it will be a long time.

Congratulations Dan!
It is very hard to give up tubes somewhere when you get used to their natural sound.
Enjoy them in great health and joy!

McIntosh tube and PMC transmission does make a difference. Very satisfying to hear more of the original signal that the recording artist and sound engineer intended you to hear.
