I just traded my Alexia 1's for Alexia 2's, but I had Ultra 5's on my 1's for over 2 years. I had mine spiked and set up by local installer before putting the Stilpoints on and I can absolutely vouch that the stillpoints make a very notable improvement (to say the least).

Out of interest, when you used the Ultra 5’s did you have the spikes sitting on the Ultra 5’s given they seem to have a hole to support spikes? |

I wasn’t aware that is what the holes are for, doesn’t seem to me that it would support properly if the case. |

Of course it will, that's a bizarre statement. Spikes add performance to the Ultra 5s for a nominal cost and are necessary on hard floors since there's no give like on carpet and no floor is even.

The way I read the statement was the OEM speaker spikes were resting on the 5’s, not making sense to me. Yes, Stillpoints makes threaded adapters and spike adapters that adjust for level and sound no matter the surface. Last edited by For The Love of Music; 07-26-2018 at 10:41 AM. |

The current production which is the one I have has threading on both sides - one side for speaker adapters and one side for spikes.

Yes, I did use the additional spikes on the Ultra 5's as I am on a carpeted surface.

No, that's not the way the way the product was meant for use. Remove the speaker's spikes and replace them with Stillpoint threaded adapters. Screw one end of the adapter into the speaker and the other end into the Ultra 5. If you want, screw a Stilloints spike into the other end of the Ultra 5, but ime that is not needed.
