Jim...I think if you went for the M-800A monos you will get a much bigger soundstage and a more immersive experience. Remember the power supply in the 590A is much less spec'd out than in the stereo or even more so the mono power amps, given that it has to share the smaller chassis with the preamp section. If you are digging what the 590A 30 wpc Class A is doing, expect a bigger and bolder sound with the same sonic qualities in the M-800A monos. Just my 2c.

You are probably correct, the 800's might provide that larger soundstage that is missing in the 590a. I am not sure what I am going to do yet, with the major issue being a sale of my gear at a reasonable price.

Hi everyone, I am Emanuele, I write from Italy.

I love Luxman products, I am a proud owner of the 509u integrated amp. and D06 SACD player (speakers are B&W 803D, Cardas Golden Reference power cords, balanced interconnects and two pairs of speaker cables in "shotgun" biwiring configuration).

It's not a surprise to me that the 590AII int.amp could replace that great Mc preamp+power amp suite.

I heard the new class A 590ax, it is equipped with ODNF 3.0, LECUA preamp section (you can find in Luxman separate preamps) and larger power trasformers; it has greater power and dynamics than the 590aII...maybe even a wider soundstage...

You could not hide controls on the front panel, but maybe 590AX could be the right choice.

Obviously if you get Luxman C1000 preamp, two M800 power amps and a D08 player it's better :-D !

Many thanx to all!

The 590AX has been reviewed online by Audiodrom; they wrote about its musicality, outstanding dynamics (you would not expect reading "30W") and great driving capabilities ; like all Luxman integrated it has a very good pre-phono section and headphone output.

Between M600A (+ preamp.) and 590AX maybe I would choose the 2nd, but both M600A and M800A can be bridged in mono and give (teorically) four times the power they do in stereo (M800A becomes a pure class A 240w monoblock! Imagine that B1000f, Luxman's top of the line power amplifier, is a 250W class AB monoblock...).
