Dan I tend to agree with you....... I feel they have moved the Futuras down a notch making room for another price point model to take its former place.

Would not sell mine for anything......

If the Olympicas are any indication, the new Homage range should be a nice improvement.

But. That. Video.

Someone commented - wow Sonus Fabers have built the first truly wireless IP66 spec speakers! When he saw the video [emoji51]

I think the original Guarneri Homage is still the best looking ..and IMHO, the best sounding as well! Someone told me that the cost to produce the original became untenable and so SF decided to cheapen the line and so was born the next itineration.
These new versions look like something that Franco would not have produced. BTW, the original silk strings are IMO a problem that long term makes no sense whatsoever! They look fine when newer, but after a few years...they are a no go and IMHO a design flaw. So, the new stand for the G may not look as good as the previous string based stands, but I bet they will perform a lot better- and for a much longer period of time.

Does this lower price still indicate they are made in Italy? or China?

personally, no fan of the metal rims around the drivers and worlds away from the classic look. keeps reminding me of this

The Olympicas are already built in Italy, and they even brought out a Venere model made in Italy.

Not sure what the bling brings to the speaker?? The metal parts seem superfluous
and unnecessary.

Looking at the new stands for the Guarneri Tradition, I can see that they do make a lot more sense than the traditional Guarneri stands. The new ones are fabricated from carbon fibre and I would suspect are far more inert than the older stands. Doing away with the silk strands..even though less aesthetic, is also a good move. May not look like much at a distance, but I bet these new stands are great close up. Plus, the rigidity and longevity must be way superior.
May have to some day look into replacing my GH stands with these babies.
