Hi jprice; this is tom d. we have emailed about the ma7000, glad to see you using the JL sub via the balanced output from the amp, that's the ticket!!! I believe my 7000 is still breaking in, it has taken two major steps in that regard. I also tried a little cut on the 30 and 150hz bands of the EQ. This has improved bass detail nicely.

I laughed at your story climbing the Fathom up to the third floor and stopping every two steps cause I had the same experience when I put the 501's in my listening room.
For the 2301's I did not make the same mistake : I asked the DB Schenker guy to help me climb them and I would offer him a nice note. So we did it both. But my back still suffered from it ! This is the problem of big cities. We are surrounded by thousands of people and we finally live in a quite isolated way. In the country land, (in villages), in small countries : we are less isolated. But still that is not always the case. Even in those kind of places we can still be isolated. I think that is a big problem in our modern era. Cheers, Jérôme

When the 20' Wire World balanced interconnects for the sub came in, she immediately asked "how much" and then went ballistic - even when I told her that they only cost about half as much as they actually did. . . . . .
