I'll be the contrarian here and say the discoloration isn't a deal breaker - this has happened on power conditioners of mine, twice, although I can't quite recall if it was a PS Audio unit and a Shunyata unit, or two PS Audio units.
Suffice to say it didn't damage the equipment - it taught me to power it down before plugging something into it. What I will offer, is save for a used Triton V2 or V3. The V1 was underwhelming when I auditioned it against my PS Audio P10. The V2 raised the bar, SUBSTANTIALLY and is when I said goodbye to active power conditioning. I don't foresee going back.
