Before Magico I had a pair for almost a decade and enjoyed every musical minute
and so will you. A wonderfully engaging and beautiful speaker. Congrats! |

One of my concerns is due to the multipurpose room where my stereo resides, I am somewhat limited to placement options unlike our intimate dedicated home theater room where my Amati Futura will go. I bought my Amati’s new and my dealer (Wilson and Sonus Faber) was really able to dial my AF in my room to my satisfaction. Yes, I’ve read that the Stradivari can be picky regarding placement, but I’m hoping that the local setup person who Ivan has recommended for me will be able to make the Strad sing like my Amati Futura. |

Like everyone else has said congratulations and no doubt you will be happy with these speakers. I went for Cremona to Elipsa to Strads and while I loved owning each one the Strads are rather special . I also have a pair of Guarneri Mementos in a much smaller room which are excellent with a sub. Getting back to you like Craig says post pictures

My observations are the Strads are not picky per se, rather they really reward getting it right. That can be 1/4 of toe in here or there and getting the rake right.
They will sound great if your listening position is in the 1.1-1.3 : 1 ratio of listening distance to speaker spread and you start with them toed in aimed at ~18” behind your head.

crwilli,
Sonus Faber will be, hopefully my next speaker. Would you please dumb down your listening ratio for someone like me who is up way too late? Do you mean 1.1-1.3 speaker width to 1.0 listening distance?

No, the other way.
And actually I would suggest starting with the listening position the same distance as the speakers are apart, eg an equilateral triangle up to having the listening position at ~ 1.3 X the speaker width. Good rule of thumb. So 1.0 to 1.3 X the distance the speakers are apart. In my PA room, I sat at 1.3 with little toe in, in my SC room, I have almost a perfect equilateral triangle with them aimed 18” behind my head. If your room allows, That is what I would suggest you start with.
